TH3 H0BBIT

In class we have started to read a book of our choice. I feel that it is a good thing to start each class with time for a free read because it give people who normally don't read, time to read and it eases everyone into the class for that day. I have chosen The Hobbit, mainly because it was one of the only books in my house that sounded half interesting and my brother had told me it was a great book. In The Hobbit , Gandalf has come back to reunite and talk with his old friend Bilbo Baggins. Gandalf asks Bilbo to go on an adventure and to think about it . The next day twelve dwarves and Gandalf show up at Bilbo's hole, Gandalf reveals that they will be going to Lonely Mountain to slay Smaug the dragon and to reclaim the dwarves treasure. Bilbo is hesitant at first, but decides to leave and travel with the dwarves. After a couple of days, Bilbo is starting to question his decision to go on the trip. One night the dwarves and Bilbo stop to camp in the rain, with little food. That night they stumble upon three trolls, with fire and food...

NUMB3R ON3

Thinking as far back as I can, the first experience with a book is Corduroy by Don Freeman. Even though I like some books, I feel that my first experiences with reading were not very good. It began with the starter books that have about five words on a page and a lot of pictures. I think the reason I didn't have good experiences is because it seemed like I was being forced to read these books when I was little. Honestly the first book I remember liking is Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater. I liked this book because it was a good story and I was allowed to choose it myself. My reading journey has been quite hectic. At first I didn't really like reading, because it took so long, but as I found better books, it began to move faster. It's strange, at times I hate reading, but other times it's great. Right now I hate reading some assigned books, but reading is alright when I am able to choose the book myself. As a reader I am comfortable, I just hope to be able to read faster and stop procrastinating.
